#1 Go to the San Clemente Pier – The pier is a great place to fish, take a stroll or grab a drink at the Fisherman’s and watch the waves roll by.
#2 Visit Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens – Casa Romantica features seasonal exhibits where you can learn about San Clemente’s history. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens and great ocean views.
#3 Walk the Coastal Trail – The trail is a little over two miles long. It starts at North Beach and ends down at Calafia. It’s a great place to exercise, walk your dogs or stop along the way and watch the sunset.
#4 Calafia State Beach – This beach is a little off the beaten path which makes it a little bit less crowded compared to places like the pier during peak months. The metered parking lot is super close to the beach and it also has restrooms, showers, and a food stand that’s open during summer which makes it any easy place for the whole family to enjoy.
#5 Visit the Surfing Heritage and Cultural Center – There you can learn about the history and culture of surfing and also see how surf boards have progressed over the years.
#6 Spend a day or the weekend at San Onofre State Beach – San Onofre is a great place to learn how to surf in San Clemente. And it also allows for RV and camper camping, which means that you can surf, barbecue and enjoy the sun all weekend long.
#7 Support our local Downtown area – Primarily on Avenida Del Mar, it has a mix of eclectic shops, restaurants and food, and you can even listen to some live music.
These are just seven things you can do to make sure that you and your family enjoy your next trip to San Clemente.
